{The power of colours – or the lack there of..}

When editing a photograph, it is very much about a feeling when you look at the end result. Does it draw you in? Does it capture your eye?
Black and white. Classic. Timeless.Never fails. If you haven’t tried it, do it now!
I am yet to come across a photo editing program that does not have the option of turning it into b&w.
Sometimes you look at one picture again and again, and then you strip it from colour and it comes a l i v e .
I did a photoshoot last week, and although I do love the colour version of this, the b&w one draws me in.

{ The candid moments }

When I have a first look at my photos after a shoot, I look for the moments, the images that makes me smile, stop and look again. Those are the ones I keep.
Time changes quickly. Seasons come and go, years pass and soon your little baby is graduating and off into the big world to make his own history.
That’s why I love the candid moments. The little glimpses of your personality in a picture. The one I took when you thought I was just adjusting my lens..

This picture makes me feel peaceful. All I asked her to do was sit on the steps, and she picked up a leaf and was in her own world.

Here’s another one of the two sisters playing.

They looked SO cute in their princess dresses.

If you want to book a family shoot or a portrait one for your child, you can contact me here.

Now go out and take some candid photos of your nearest and dearest and have a good laugh together:)

{Norway, home of peace and love}

This blog post is quite personal as I am a bit taken back by recent events, and I must say writing about it is all I can think of doing.

I’m sat here a bit in disbelief..my beloved country, my peaceful home has become a victim to such grief and sorrow. As I heard the news about the bomb in Oslo and also the horrible affairs that were to follow, I am relieved no one I know was hurt. Still, my heart goes out to everyone who was affected by this horrible act of hatred.I am born and raised in the North of Norway, and it is such a beautiful peaceful country. No one could have ever imagined this to happen.
I think it is amazing how everyone has reacted to it all..with such love in responds to hatred.With a shoulder to cry on instead of words of revenge. Suddenly everyone is your neighbor. A stranger, your brother. It is such a testimony of the time we live in, where when it all comes down to the core – all we want is to love and be loved in return.

I went to a memorial service at St. Anns church in Manchester, and I left my rose by the side of the road in respect for all those who we will never forget.
